David Francis David Francis

David Francis, originally from Australia, has lived in the United States since 1984. His first novel Agapanthus Tango was published in seven countries and then in the United States as The Great Inland Sea. He received the Australia Literature Fund Fellowship to the Keesing Studio in Paris in 2002 and returns to the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris each year. The film rights to The Great Inland Sea have been optioned by Serena Films in France and David is currently collaborating on the screenplay. His short stories and articles have appeared in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Weekly Times, The Elegant Variation, The Advocate, Wet Ink and The Southern California Review. His second novel, Stray Dog Winter, has thus far been released in Australia and the U.S. and received the 2008 Fellowship of Australian Writers National Literary Award and was a Lambda Literary Award finalist. In 2008, Stray Dog Winter was also named Novel of the Year by The Australian Literary Review and Book of the Year by The Advocate.
