Lisa Brackmann's debut novel, Rock Paper Tiger (2010), set on the fringes of the Chinese art world, made several "Best of 2010" lists, including Amazon's Top 100 Novels and Top 10 Mystery/Thrillers, and was nominated for the Strand Magazine Critics Award for Best Debut Novel. Her second novel, Getaway, a literary thriller set in Mexico, is due to be published by Soho Press in May 2012. Both novels will be published in the UK/Commonwealth by Harper UK next year. Her first published short story, “Don’t Feed Our Bums,” appeared in Akashic Books' San Diego Noir (2011).

Lisa is a California native and longtime resident of Venice Beach. She has lived and traveled extensively in China, the setting of Rock Paper Tiger and her third novel, in progress.
