Amy Ettinger
Amy Ettinger is the author of Sweet Spot: An Ice Cream Binge Across America (2017), which The Wall Street Journal hailed as “a surprisingly serious, impressively thorough treatment of ice cream’s cultural significance, fabrication, economics and history, not to mention its effect on human brain chemistry.” Shelf Awareness described the book as richly entertaining, while Library Journal called it a "breezy part memoir, part frozen-treat homage." Sweet Spot has been featured in Time, Popular Science, Bustle, Parade, and on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, Here and Now, Marketplace, and The California Report. Her work has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, Huffington Post, Backpacker, and many other publications. Ettinger holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She lives in Santa Cruz with her husband and daughter.
