Gustavo is the editor of OC Weekly, author of Orange County: A Personal History (2008), and Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America (2012), and a lecturer in the Chicana and Chicano Studies Department at CSU Fullerton. He writes the nationally-syndicated column “¡Ask a Mexican!” in which he answers any and all questions about America's spiciest and largest minority. This award-winning column appears in 39 U.S. newspapers and was published in book form by Scribner in May 2007. He has been featured in several national and international newspapers and also on TV shows including The Today Show, The Colbert Report, and Hannity. Gustavo is a lifelong resident of Orange County and is the proud son of two Mexican immigrants, one of whom was illegal.
