Timothy Hallinan is the Edgar, Shamus, Macavity, and Nero Awards-nominated author of nineteen published novels. He currently writes two series: the Poke Rafferty Bangkok thrillers, focused on a Thailand-based American travel writer and his cross-cultural family; and the Junior Bender mysteries, about a Los Angeles burglar who moonlights, usually reluctantly, as a private eye for crooks. His Junior Bender series is currently under development for global cable television, and his latest Rafferty book, The Hot Countries, was named one of the best books of 2015 by Library Journal. Hallinan's most recent book, the Junior Bender mystery Fields Where They Lay (2016), was an editor's pick at Entertainment Weekly and Publishers Weekly, and drew a comparison with Arthur Conan Doyle in Kirkus Reviews. Hallinan lives in Bangkok and Santa Monica, California. He is fortunate enough to be married to Munyin Choy.
