Tyler is the author of four Danny Beckett detective novels in the Long Beach Homicide series: A King of Infinite Space (2010), The Pain Scale (2012), A Cold and Broken Hallelujah (2014), and Come Twilight (2016). The 2014 Writer in Residence at John Cabot University in Rome, Tyler also teaches at CSU Long Beach, and his writing has appeared in numerous publications, including the Los Angeles Times, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and The Best American Mystery Stories. His next novel, Mercy Dogs, will be released in October. He lives with his wife in Long Beach, California.
