Paul Levine is the author of “Solomon vs. Lord,” nominated for both the Macavity Award and the James Thurber Prize for American Humor. The novel introduced the mismatched couple Steve Solomon and Victoria Lord, squabbling Miami trial lawyers.

The second book in the series, “The Deep Blue Alibi,” was nominated for an Edgar Award, and “Kill All the Lawyers” was a finalist for the International Thriller Writers Award. Levine also was awarded the John D. MacDonald award for Florida fiction for his “Jake Lassiter” novels.

A television writer, Levine wrote 20 episodes of the CBS military series “JAG” and co-created “First Monday,” a drama set at the Supreme Court, starring James Garner and Joe Mantegna.

His most recent book is the highly praised “Illegal,” a gripping tale of human trafficking on the Mexican border. Later this year, “Lassiter” will be published in hardcover by Bantam.
