Kemper Donovan’s debut novel, The Decent Proposal, was a national bestseller when it came out in spring 2016 from HarperCollins. The novel is an addictively-readable romantic comedy, drama, and mystery rolled into one. It is about two very different strangers whose lives become intertwined when they receive an unusual proposition, offered them anonymously: spend two hours a week together—just talking—for one full year, and they will each receive half a million dollars. Kemper attended Stanford University and Harvard Law School before working at the literary management company, Circle of Confusion, representing screenwriters and comic books. His first client wrote the feature film Hanna, released by Focus Features. A member of the New York Bar, Kemper lives in Los Angeles and is currently working on his second novel. |
