Barbara DeMarco-Barrett’s published works include the inspirational writing book, Pen on Fire (2004), a Los Angeles Times bestseller and winner of the 2005 ASJA Best Book award. Her short story, “Crazy for You,” published in Orange County Noir, was chosen for USA Noir: Best of the Akashic Noir Series along with Joyce Carol Oates and Michael Connelly. Her nonfiction has seen print in The Writer, Los Angeles Review of Books, Authors Guild Bulletin, Poets & Writers, Beach Reads, Orange Coast, and the Los Angeles Times. DeMarco-Barrett teaches at Saddleback College and online at Gotham Writer’s Workshop. She hosts Writers on Writing on KUCI-FM (streaming live Weds. 9 a.m. at kuci.org) and founded the Pen on Fire Speaker Series in Newport Beach. More at penonfire.com.
